Love Jar

Make a Jar full of Love

I thought it would be fun to make a valentine for my husband that would last all month long. I also have a new found love for Mason jars. So a valentine love jar it is!

This project is super easy and simple. This jar contains 29 hearts, one for every day of February. Each heart has something written on it to read. They all are about him of course and start with something like this:

I love when...
I love that...
I love your...

After each heart had something fun written on it I folded it up, so that the jar is full, and popped it in.

It was a very easy and simple project but filled with time, thought and of course Love!

Christmas Wreath

Make A Fun Christmas Wreath!

Decided to keep rolling with the wreath making festivities. This time I covered the wreath form in yarn instead of fabric. Found out this is much less time consuming and cheaper, plus and plus! After covering the wreath with white yarn I added some yarn that I had which I love. Its got the ombre thing going on, it fades from white to pink and then back again over and over.

Strung a few glass ornaments from the center top and finished it off with a white lace ribbon bow.

Holly Headband

Make A Jolly Holly Headband!

This headband is so simple and easy to make but super cute for the holidays! All you need is a piece of green felt, a piece of red felt, white thread, elastic, scissors and a hot glue gun.

Trace and cut out three leaves. If you would like to use the patterns I made they are here. Then stitch up the center of each leaf with white thread. You will also need three small red circles, I did not make a pattern for these, I just cut some out real quick. After you have all the pieces simple glue together.

Place on your little ones head, or yours :) and your ready for the big day!

Fall Wreath

Make A Fun Fall Wreath

I have a new found love for wreaths! I have been meaning to make a holiday wreath since Independence Day, and I finally made one, my first wreath ever.

I cut strips of white fabric, folded them in half and tightly wrapped the wreath form with it.  Then I wrapped gray yarn around parts of the wreath for more texture. Lastly I pinned some felt leaves onto the bottom side  and voila a simple, clean fall wreath.

The leaves are the same shape and size as the leaves from the headband in the last post!

Our Thankful Wall

Be Thankful

I had been seeing so many fun ways to both decorate your house and help you to remember thee things we are grateful for. I wanted to do something like this in our house. So I made a simple bunting out of paper and yarn that said "WE ARE THANKFUL".

I strung this up on a wall downstairs that you can see from basically everywhere on our first floor. Then I found some leaf shapes online and printed them out on card stock.

I used these leaves to trace and cut out many many leaves. I wanted us both (the Hubs and I) to write one thing we are grateful for on a leaf and put it on the wall each day. At first my other half thought I was crazy and said he didn't know if he could think of that many things. This made me realize all the more how much we should do something like this! Soph also colored on a couple leaves of her own :)

This picture was taken early in the month so it doesn't show all the leaves but you get the idea right? :)

I am excited to do this every year to remind us of all the blessings in our lives!
